The canvas was likely painted by Victor Trip in 1954 and (also likely) depicts a harbor view of the Maashaven in Rotterdam. The canvas was professionally cleaned about 20 years ago and has been in storage for the past 10 years. It was purchased in 1987 from an art dealer in Rotterdam.
The canvas is in excellent condition, as is the frame (apart from some minor damage, but these are invisible and can easily be touched up with a little paint). The frame itself is a work of art. Unfortunately, there's some glare from the sunlight in the first photo (bottom right).
