Van Veldhuizen studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam from 1972 to 1977, with Frank Dam and Anton Vrede, among others.
Van Veldhuizen's work is characterized by the representation of an almost unreal empty interior space, often a museum interior, of which a large part is floor, usually with a view to the outside.
