The Rotterdam visual artist Willem Visser (1956) studied at the Rotterdam Academy (the predecessor of the current Willem de Kooning Academy) from 1974 to 1979. His work is held in private and public collections in the Netherlands and abroad.
The landscape plays an important role in his work.
This painting depicts a landscape in the Eifel and is part of a series he started in 2022. He says about it himself: 'I am fascinated by the color planes of the fields, the thickets, and the atmospheric perspective. The Eifel provides a clear, almost abstract landscape with all kinds of layers, unexpected vistas, and surprising vistas.'
