Willem Visser - In the forest

Willem Visser studied at the Rotterdam Academy from 1974 to 1979. He regularly exhibited landscapes and cityscapes in the Netherlands and Belgium. He is particularly interested in landscapes and forest scenes. His work is held in private and public collections at home and abroad.
In this painting of a forest scene, the mood and atmosphere of the forest play an important role. It depicts the forest as a mysterious, enclosed world. The light creates a surprising alternation of dark and light areas. The handling of the materials is lively and the paint applied freely to emphasize the sense of continuous growth and movement.
Willem Visser lives and works in Rotterdam.
