Willem Visser studied at the Rotterdam Academy from 1974 to 1979. Between 1979 and 2002 he regularly exhibited landscapes and cityscapes in the Netherlands and Belgium. He was particularly interested in polder landscapes and forest views at that time. His work can be found in private and public collections at home and abroad. Even now, his main subject is still the landscape, but in addition to the polder landscape, his interest is increasingly focused on landscapes beyond the country's borders. This painting shows a road in the French countryside in the Lot-et-Garonne region in a sketchy manner. In this, he shows his love for clear areas and simple forms.
