=======================================================

Willem (Wim) Bos (Rotterdam, 12 February 1906 – The Hague, 22 January 1974) was a Dutch painter, draftsman and watercolourist. He was self-taught.[1]
He lived and worked in Rotterdam, Brussels, Hamburg, Nijmegen, Antwerp, and Paris. In 1924, Bos returned to Rotterdam. In Rotterdam, he drew inspiration from the loading and unloading activities in the ports and the sight of the seagoing vessels present there.
In addition to harbor scenes, Bos also painted, drew, and watercolored lake scenes. His harbor scenes exude the distinct atmosphere of pre-war harbors, with steamships, loading booms and cranes, steam whistles, and rattling anchor chains.
