Wim van Broekhoven (1955, Dirksland, Netherlands) studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Tilburg and the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art in Rotterdam. His field of work lies in two dimensions, particularly in drawing and graphic art. Drawing from live models and observing urban and natural landscapes are recurring motifs. Themes with narrative and mythological backgrounds are rich sources of inspiration for him. Characteristic of his work are the elaborate and layered sheets that possess a strongly expressive character. Wim van Broekhoven's work is highly poetic and artisanal.
