Anna Augusta DEKKING-VAN HAEFTEN (Batavia 1903 – Groningen 1985)
Anna Augusta Dekking-van Haeften was a sculptor and draughtswoman. She studied at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague from 1921 to 1924 and began her career drawing portraits. Later, she focused on sculpture. In 1952–1953, she took modeling lessons with Karl-Jean Longuet in Paris; she also received instruction from Johan van Zweden and Gijs Jacobs van den Hof. Her work includes human figures, portraits, and abstract sculptures, executed in materials including bronze and cement. From 1956 onwards, she received commissions for public spaces. Her sculptures Leven en dood, Ot en Sien, and Tasten, among others, can be found in Groningen.
