Jaime Costa Tur (1926 -2020 )

Painter, Watercolourist

Jaime COSTA TUR (Gandia 1926 – Dénia 2020)

Jaime Costa Tur was a painter, watercolorist, and draftsman. He grew up in Dénia, where he lived and worked for most of his life. His subjects were closely connected to the coast of the Valencia region: fishing boats, harbor scenes, beaches, villagers, and their daily activities. Mount Montgó and the landscape around Dénia and Xàbia also recur in his work. He worked with, among other materials, oil on canvas and watercolor on paper. Light and color are important elements in his depictions, which align with the Valencian Luminist painting tradition.
