Paul Secon (1970)

Paul Secon (1970)

Designer

Paul SECON (Philadelphia 1916 – Rochester 2007)

Paul Secon is associated as a designer with geometric lighting from the 1960s and 1970s. Characteristic is the combination of transparent or smoke-colored acrylic glass sheets with tensioned nylon threads. These threads form spatial patterns around the light source and create an interplay between light, shadow, and transparency. The lamps are generally classified as Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen houses a Swag pendant lamp that is registered as the designer under his name.
