Peter Raos is a glass artist who studied at the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland. He primarily creates paperweights, vases, and perfume bottles, inspired by flowers, gardens, and other natural forms. Characteristic of his work are the small colored glass elements that he crafts himself from composite glass rods and incorporates into his objects. With these, he builds floral motifs and landscape compositions within the transparent glass. He designs and shapes his work by hand in his studio in Devonport. In addition to glassblowing, he specialized in glass casting techniques during his postgraduate studies.
