Raphaël Hermans (Maastricht, 1974) enthusiastically combines his two great loves: music and the visual arts. He grows up in an artistic family where there is plenty of room for creativity. Hermans is therefore encouraged at an early age to fully develop both his talents. Since 2008 he has been active in both fields: as a bassist and as a visual artist whose work can now be found in many private and corporate collections.
Hermans knows how to make his inspiration tangible in his own way. Whether it's collages, sculptures or paintings, in his art striking compositions are enriched with colors that do not have to scream to be noticed. A common theme is contradictions. Feelings of loving security and tension can sometimes be found in one and the same composition.
