Rut BRYK (Stockholm 1916 – Helsinki 1999)
In her early, often narrative and colorful ceramic reliefs, she incorporated motifs such as still lifes, childhood memories, and family themes; later, her work evolved into monumental, architectural-looking wall reliefs constructed from small, three-dimensional tiles.
Bryk worked for years in the art department of the Arabia factory and realized important commissions for public spaces, including large wall panels in Helsinki City Hall and in Mäntyniemi, the official residence of the President of Finland.
