Scarlett HOOFT GRAAFLAND (Maarn 1973)
Scarlett Hooft Graafland graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 1999, specializing in autonomous textile design. Subsequently, she studied at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and obtained a Master's degree in Sculpture at Parsons School of Design in New York. Her work consists of staged photography, performances, and temporary installations in landscapes. She works primarily with analog photography, without digital image editing. For her projects, she travels to remote areas, including Bolivia, Greenland, Madagascar, and Vanuatu. Her work addresses, among other things, the relationship between humans, nature, and culture. She has exhibited at Huis Marseille in Amsterdam, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lima, and the Museum of Photography in Seoul, among others.
