Wouter van Buuren (1972)
Photographer
Wouter van BUUREN (1972)
Wouter van Buuren is a photographer who creates composite landscape images in which space, time, and perception take center stage. He photographs from high vantage points, such as rooftops, bridges, and power lines. He digitally combines the individual shots into circular or rectangular photo collages, in which the boundaries between the photos remain visible. Some compositions show the view from a single location; others connect images from various viewpoints he visits during the course of a day. Parts of the structures he stands on often remain in the frame. In this way, he also makes his own position and the creation of the composition visible.
