Jan (Josephus Jan Gijsbertus) BRUENS. Born in Rotterdam on January 20, 1942. Working in Zeeland (Aardenburg), mainly as a painter: “A surrealistic combination of various subjects”. Jan Bruens was known as a “practicing anarchist”. He contributed to the “Gramschap” Pamphlet Series, among other things. Wrath (published between 1979 and 1986) once started as an exchange of their products between a number of artist friends. It grew into a medium for the dissemination of all kinds of unconventional and controversial statements, things that could not or were not allowed elsewhere.
