Rob Birza is a successful and well-known Dutch contemporary artist. An artist who masters many techniques. Initially Rob Birza mainly painted with egg tempera, nowadays he also makes installations, sculptures and performances. His subjects and representations are also varied, the work is both abstract and figurative, imaginative and realistic. Birza's art has a direct physical impact on the viewer, because of its wild and imposing. Rob Birza prefers to make interesting art than beautiful art, because according to the artist you can only talk about beauty quickly.
For ten years Birza worked on the Al Qaeda series, paintings and with which he reflected on the one-sided way in which photojournalists portray the Middle East after 9/11. After this Birza mainly devoted himself to abstract art.
