Original, hand-signed and dated color woodcut by the renowned German artist Andreas Felger. The print is titled "Albsonne" (Sun of the Swabian Alb), was created in 1982, and is numbered 88/120 in the lower left corner. It is hand-signed and dated in the lower right corner.
The image depicts a characteristic landscape of the Swabian Alb with a sweeping view across fields and groves of trees. The reduced palette of earth tones, grays, and blacks, along with the distinctive woodcut texture, lends the work a special expressiveness. The stylized eye in the sky reinforces the symbolic imagery typical of Felger's work.
Andreas Felger is one of the most important contemporary artists in Baden-Württemberg. His color woodcuts are known for their craftsmanship and their profound exploration of landscape, nature, and spirituality.
