- Bas Meerman (Hilversum, 1970) studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 1989 to 1993 and now lives and works in Berlin. He couldn't paint in Amsterdam because of all the attention, so he now lives in the German capital. He finds it a harder city than Amsterdam. Perhaps his work has become harder because of it.
