An interesting solid bronze statuette of a rider on a goat-like mount.
A small figure appears to be sitting on the head of the mount.
There is another figure between the front legs of the riding animal.
Under the round plateau you see six kneeling seated figures.
This bronze figure is almost certainly the crowning glory of a tungkot malehat, a type of ritual staff used by religious specialists among the Batak people of Sumatra. The tungkot malehat consists of a single wooden or metal figure that was often carved or cast separately (as in this example) and then connected to a staff of rattan or bamboo. ( Source The MET )
