Beniti Cornelis, a Belgian artist from Mechelen, started with abstracted port installations in 1970 and evolved into highly subjective and spontaneous work around the 1980s. His intuitive approach resulted in works with unexpected shapes and lines, characterized by a limited color range. Later he integrated more colors and blended backgrounds into each other. His art, described as lyrical, mystical and sometimes enigmatic, revealed a search for lost traces and prints. He exhibited in Chicago, Brussels and Antwerp, among others. His work is included in various collections, including those of the Belgian State and the embassies of Belgium.
