Charles J. Kemper - Mandatory work in 1944 on the Bovendijk Rotterdam

Charles Kemper  was given permission during the German occupation to work for the Rotterdam archive  to capture the Rotterdam area on paper. Photography was prohibited. He usually worked in great detail. As a result, today there is a large archive in the Rotterdam archives that can be consulted about the occupation period. Drawings by Kemper from this period are therefore hardly in circulation. The drawing states "Compulsory work" and shows how recruited Dutch men had to work for the Germans. The work is dated and signed at the bottom left. There are light, barely visible age spots in the paper. The drawing is in very good condition.  In 2021, this drawing was part of an impressive report in the general newspaper.
