The etching is signed by the artist by hand in pencil at the lower right.
The etching is ACID FREE and framed with an acid free passe-partout and in a very nice gold frame.

Cornelis Brandenburg was born in the year 1884 in Wormerveer.
In 1902 he went to Amsterdam and studied at the Drawing School for Arts and Crafts.
As a plate painter he worked at "De Distel" in Amsterdam.
Pupil of the famous etcher P. Dupont.
After this he concentrated entirely on etchings and was the most important etcher of the Amsterdam canals, but also etchings of Utrecht, Dordrecht, The Hague and other cities.
More than 100 etchings of Amsterdam and here the Amsterdam Archives has more than 60 etchings.
He died in Amsterdam in 1954.
A book has been published of all his etchings.
