Bold work by Dick Elffers (1910–1980). The artist Dick Elffers, originally from Rotterdam, studied graphic arts at the Rotterdam Academy. He developed into a versatile artist: painter, sculptor, ceramist, photographer... but is best known for his graphic work.
In the 1970s, alongside his work as a performing artist, he worked as a lecturer in documentary art at the Academy of 's-Hertogenbosch.
The offered work was created around 1955. It bears no title but is, without a doubt, a painted impression of Rotterdam...
On board. Condition: The work is slightly warped (approx. 1 cm). Otherwise in fair to good condition. Slight damage to corner. See images.
