An absolute masterpiece of the red houses along the dike of Kolhorn (the birthplace and burial ground) from 1985 by Dirk Breed.
This work has been in the possession of my late father, Arie Rampen, in Bergen/Utrecht since its purchase in 1985. That year, as chairman of the KCB (Kunstenaars Centrum Bergen), my father organized the cultural exchange project "Caen-Bergen" between five artists from the Normandy region (particularly around Caen) and five well-known North Holland artists, including Dirk Breed. This specific painting was exhibited at the municipal theater (théâtre municipal) in Caen, Normandy, at that time.
