Heike Huismann - “Marie” – portrait

“Marie” is an intimate and serene portrait of a woman who, with her eyes closed, seems to withdraw into her own thoughts. The left-facing profile, soft skin tones, and expressively painted red hair give the work a dreamy, almost melancholic atmosphere. The powerful green and blue-green background forms a striking contrast with the warm colors of the face and body.
The woman does not seem so much to be posing for the viewer, but rather withdrawn into herself. This gives the painting a timeless and personal quality: a moment of stillness, remembrance, or introspection. The loose, visible brushstrokes reinforce that feeling and give the portrait a contemporary, expressive appearance.
The work was painted by Heike Huismann in 2013, during her figurative period. It is oil on canvas, 55 × 50 cm. The work is signed by Heike Huismann on the reverse. The reverse also lists the title Marie, the year 2013, the technique (oil on canvas), and the dimensions. Additionally, there is a mention of exhibitions at the Achtzig-Galerie in Berlin.
Condition: Good used condition. A few spots with paint loss in the green background area. See photos.
