Heinrich Franger (1919 - 2006): Abstract composition
60 x 40 cm, 70 x 50 cm framed
signed at the bottom right and dated '68
About Franger: Born in 1919 in Wiesbaden; lives and works in Leiden. Studied at the Wadang Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden. Undertook many study trips in Europe and exhibited in: Gothenburg - Cologne - Dortmund - Hanover - Paris - Stockholm - Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Bilbao - Barcelona - Munich - Palma de Mallorca. His work is held in many museums and private collections. 'It is peculiar that the abstract—formless in its essence—contains such a high degree of personal expression in Franger, even in comparison with the widely known expressionists from his native country, such as Klee and Ernst. From this point of view, Franger appears to us as the poet among the abstracts, and if we had to classify him, we could call him concrete abstract and naturalistic' (Professor Del Castillo, 1966)
