A very large, beautiful work of art by the French painter Henri Le Fauconnier (1881-1946). With a wooden frame. Recognizable, in addition to the paint style, are the Daisy flowers often used by Le Fauconnier in this powerful still life.
As far as we know, the work is unsigned, but it has been attributed by the well-known Dutch art connoisseur/writer Adriaan Venema (1941-1993), see last photo, hence Environment Le Fauconnier.
Henri Victor Gabriel Le Fauconnier (5-7-1881, 25-12-1946) was a French cubist painter related to the work of Henri Matisse. As an artist, Le Fauconnier went through various artistic phases.
First Neo-Impressionist period (1905-1907), then Breton period (1908) in the style of Nabis/de Fauves. Then the cubist period (1909-1913) and the Dutch expressionist period (1914-1919).
