Two charming etchings (031-JR and 032-JR) by Jan Rombout, depicting the rural surroundings of the river Rotte.

My "Rijnmond Toen" collection is being slimmed down. Together with collection no. 032-JR, this etching has been part of the Rijnmond Toen collection since 2014, under no. 031-JR.
Both etchings were already completely intact when they were hired, only both frames of Jan Rombout's "house framer" in Nijmegen were damaged and did not do justice to the charming etchings.
Both etchings were cleaned and made acid-free at the time.
De Rijnmond When the collection was reduced and in preparation for the sale, both etchings were mounted in a new acid-free Artique passe-partout, ready for framing for the new owner.

Both etchings 031-JR and 032-JR by Jan Rombout (1920-1987) provide a view of the Rotte, the friendly river on the north side of Rotterdam from which the city takes its name. Both locations fall under the then municipality of Bleiswijk (now a village center under the municipality of Lansingerland).
Jan Rombout was a Nijmegen artist, born on 06-10-1920 in Nijmegen and died on 01-04-1987 in Nijmegen . He was a sculptor, printmaker, painter and draftsman . Educated at the Arnhem Art Practice Academy, where he was taught by Wim van Woerkom and Hendrik Valk, and mainly worked as a graphic artist. He was one of the founders of the Free Academy and Arts Center De Lindenberg in Nijmegen.
The General Cultural-historical Foundation of the municipality of Boxmeer has also published a book (9789070336509) of Rombout's drawings, watercolors and etchings under the title "A Nijmegen artist at work in Boxmeer and the Land van Cuijk", in which the images can be seen in the original colors. to be seen.
Both etchings are clean and acid-free and placed in identical "Artique" passe-partouts
