Jan Sluijters Jr. drew his nude studies during his studies at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam and the years immediately thereafter, roughly in the 1930s and early 1940s.
During these years, he worked intensively under the supervision of Professor Wolter.
He spent hours every day drawing from a live model to master anatomy.
From 1936, his focus shifted largely to landscapes, still lifes, and his well-known Amsterdam cityscapes.
