Using paintings, drawings, prints, documents, and posters, Ed Wingen sheds light on the history, ideas, and key artists of Cobra, fifty years after the movement's founding in 1948.
The book brings together work by artists such as Karel Appel, Corneille, Asger Jorn, Constant Nieuwenhuys, and many others who helped shape the experimental and spontaneous visual language for which Cobra became known.
Jaski Art Gallery. 1997, first edition. Cloth hardcover with dust jacket. Richly illustrated. Complete copy with the two original facsimile Cobra posters that were issued with the publication. Very good condition.
