About the artist:
Laetitia de Haas was born in 1948 in Voorburg as the daughter of artist Willy Belinfante. After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1969, she continues to live and work in the capital. She mainly makes oil paintings and color etchings in a recognizable, somewhat naive and tranquil, figurative style. In 1986 she received the Prix Francois 1 for her extensive graphic work.
Given the dreamy, idyllic atmosphere, it is not surprising that countless greeting cards of her oeuvre have been printed, which are available via the internet. 'She manages to discover the fascinating in the seemingly inconspicuous', according to one reviewer's accurate description. Gardens and courtyards, nature designed by human hands, these are the favorite subjects of Laetitia de Haas. Apparently her paintings and etchings exude an atmosphere of carelessness. She likes to paint romantic interiors and vistas in gardens, houses and landscapes.
