Offered for sale: a very elegant and rare large porcelain solifleur/bud vase from the world-famous German manufactory Meissen. This slender model (Zylinder-Halsvase) bears the official model number 68 and was produced in the period 1934–1945. A beautiful, historical example of top European craftsmanship. Features: Manufacturer: Meissen (Germany), marked on the underside with the famous crossed swords in underglaze blue. Model number: Impressed with the factory number 68 (Formnummer) and provided with the maker's code P. Decoration: Fully hand-painted with the iconic German floral motif (Deutsche Blume), including a beautiful pink rose and subtle wildflowers. Finished with a gold trim on the neck and base. Height: A remarkable 32.5 cm (this larger size is significantly rarer than the standard variants). The logo on the bottom features two fine, horizontal grinding marks (Schleifstriche), indicating that the vase was categorized by the factory at the time as Second Choice (II. Wahl). Partly due to this, the gold rim at the top shows slight, characteristic wear (gold loss) over the years due to handling and polishing. This gives the vase a beautifully authentic appearance befitting a piece approximately 80 to 90 years old.
