Oswaldo Guayasamín (Quito, July 6, 1919 - Baltimore, March 10, 1999) was an Ecuadorian painter and sculptor. He is regarded as one of the most important artists of this country. He is known for his socially critical paintings in which he depicts the suffering of the Latin American people.
