Paul Rollman (1924-2014) was born on May 11, 1924, in Amsterdam's Jordaan district (Elandsstraat). He was a real wheeler-dealer. He was a well-known painter, but also a singer, horse dealer, and writer. Paul used anything to make money; he said, "I always had a few tenners more than anyone else." After three years of school, he quit and, at twelve, became an independent entrepreneur. When the war broke out, Paul Rollman was 15.
