Salvador Dali - Twelve Apostles or Knights of the Roundtable - Sold

In 1977, Salvador Dalí created a series of twelve lithographs on Arches paper , known as The Twelve Apostles or The Twelve Knights of the Round Table,
Each lithograph is based on an original gouache painting .
Each sheet depicts one figure against a colored background.
Each print is richly composed with a colored background, gold dots, and a gold border, and was published individually with generous margins.
In contrast to his surrealist paintings, these lithographs mirror his other etchings and lithographs and, like much of his other work, revolve around Christian iconography.
His fearlessness in treating traditional subjects in a catchy and subversive way, as seen here, is also characteristic of his style.
