Tjieke Roelofs was the daughter of the painter Willem Christiaan Bleckmann and the wife of the renowned Hague School painter Albert Roelofs. Tjieke Roelofs frequently painted and watercolored landscapes and floral still lifes in the style of the Hague School. In addition, she was a skilled portrait painter. She was a member of Pulchri Studio in The Hague. Works by her hand are scarce, because after her marriage to Albert Roelofs she focused more on motherhood and had little time to paint.
