AELTESTE VOLKSTEDTER PORZELLANMANUFAKTUR (Volkstedt 1762)

Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur is a porcelain factory whose origins lie in an enterprise founded in Sitzendorf in 1760. Two years later, it moved to Volkstedt near Rudolstadt. Initially, the factory produced both utilitarian tableware and decorative porcelain for the princely court. From around 1860, the emphasis shifted to ornamental porcelain. Characteristic features include figures and sculptural groups, including shepherd parties and dancers, with painted details and porcelain lace. In addition to historical models, the production includes designs from the twentieth century. The factory is part of the cooperative Die Porzellanmanufakturen in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt.
