Eugen MARCUS (Unna 1862 - Terezin Ghetto 1942)

Eugen Marcus was a German silversmith and jeweler associated with Berlin. Tea and coffee sets, jewelry boxes, wine coolers, bowls, and cutlery are known under his name. The silverware includes forms with traditional ornaments as well as Art Nouveau designs, featuring stylized plant motifs and curved lines. His name appears on objects as a maker's mark, but also as a jeweler's or sales stamp. Consequently, not every marked object can be unequivocally attributed to his own manufacture. Moreover, the name Eugen Marcus was used by a jewelry firm that merged into Vereinigte Juweliere in 1934.
