The painter Gien Brouwer lives and works in the Utrecht area. In Rotterdam he attended the art academy, after which he was taught by Herman Wijngaard.
His great love is painting with oil on linen in naturalistic tones. He has completely mastered this technique. He also made sculptures for universities. The themes he chooses are mainly truly Dutch landscapes, such as polder and river landscapes with a threat in the air or a summer afternoon.
