This beautiful sgraffito (a decorative technique in which figures or patterns are scratched into the wet clay) ceramic vase was made in the factory of the renowned Italian ceramicists Fratelli Fanciullacci. The vase is approximately 25 cm high and has a diameter of approximately 12 cm. It has two small, almost invisible restoration chips on the neck. Bright, soft hues were used to decorate the vase, creating the fantasy sea creatures. The vase most likely dates from the 1950s. It is an exceptionally beautiful, rare, and sought-after piece. The vase is marked and model numbered "Italy F1."
