Cornelis Vreedenburg grew up in Woerden and was born there in 1880. His father was a house painter and drew and painted in his spare time. Cornelis received his first lessons from his father. Furthermore, he was partly self-taught. Cornelis was further taught by Gerard Roermeester. Cornelis worked in an impressionist style and made many drawings, watercolors and oil paintings. He died in 1946 in Laren.
