Hamish Fulton (London, 1946) is a British artist who calls himself a walking artist. Since 1972, he has created work exclusively resulting from individual walks; without a walk, there is no art, as he summarizes it himself with the slogan “no walk, no work”.

He studied at St Martin's School of Art in London and became known in the early 1970s as a pioneer of land art and conceptual art, together with Richard Long, among others.

Fulton documents his journeys—which are sometimes hundreds of kilometers long—in austere photographs, texts, maps, and drawings that center on the physical experience of walking. His work is exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide and always revolves around the direct connection between man and nature through the simple, powerful act of walking.
