- Har Sanders was a Dutch artist. Sanders studied - after his alternative military service in the National Psychiatric Institution in Eindhoven - from 1953 at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. In 1958 he obtained his diploma in the direction of 'illustrative'.
During his alternative military service in 1950 he meets fellow conscientious objector (and later artist) Frank Letterie, whom he instigates to start drawing. Letterie develops into a sculptor in the years that follow. In 2003 they both exhibit in the museum for figurative art 'De Buitenplaats' in Eelde.
Har Sanders makes silkscreens, paintings, drawings, linocuts and etchings. After living and working for a long time in Stiphout (North Brabant) and then in Bad Nieuwescha and Oude Pekela.
In October 2007, an exhibition of Sanders' work was opened in the Helmond Speelhuis. On this occasion, the book 'Har Sanders en Helmond' was published. In 't Speelhuis, there is a tent canvas painting on the wall and ceiling of eight hundred square meters, which makes you feel like you are in a tent.
