Jiri Georg Dokoupil - boy with tricycle

With the title "Boy with Tricycle," Jiří Georg Dokoupil produced only five "ea" copies, which were published alongside the limited edition of 25 of this motif, all with a sheet size of 61.0 x 47.0 cm and a motif size of 48.0 x 40.5 cm. The work offered here is in very good condition and is one of Dokoupil's high-quality digital art prints, in which lightfast, pigmented inks were applied to a high-quality image support, i.e., "giclée on cotton paper," using special inkjet printers. Jiří Georg Dokoupil produced other motifs using this printing technique between 1990 and 2010, and this copy is signed ("Dokoupil") and inscribed ("ea") in pencil.
JG Dokoupil, a founding member of the "wild youth" art collectives Mülheimer Freiheit and Junge Wilde, is known for defying classification with his constantly evolving artistic style. Dokoupil explores over one hundred different artistic techniques, experimenting with neo-expressionism, figuration, and avant-garde styles. He can only be described as a postmodern artist. In 1989, he began a series of soot paintings, using a candle flame as a brush to depict figures such as Jesus Christ. Dokoupil has also experimented with using a whip as a brush and incorporating other unconventional materials such as liquid soap and rolling tires into his work.
