Lucebert (pronunciation: loetsjəbert, pseudonym of Lubertus Jacobus Swaanswijk (Amsterdam, September 15, 1924 – Alkmaar, May 10, 1994) was a Dutch poet and painter. As a poet he was seen as the leader of the Vijftigers movement, a progressive group of poets who started experimenting with form and content after the Second World War. As a painter he was closely involved in the Amsterdam leg of the experimental Cobra group. A biography by Wim Hazeu was published in 2018. In his younger years he obeyed the call to report to the German Arbeitseinsatz. He subsequently worked as a forced laborer in the German arms industry.
