Willi Kissmer was born on December 24, 1951 in Duisberg, Germany.

Kissmer's creative streak manifested itself at an early age. Initially in the music world where he played guitar in a rock band. However, at the age of 20, the artist decided to broaden his horizons and started studying Graphic Arts at the Folkwang Art School.

During his training, Willi Kissmer is given the opportunity to develop his own style of working and to deepen his knowledge of various complex production techniques. It doesn't take long before the work of the enthusiastic German artist also catches the attention of the art world and the first exhibitions in which his work is shown soon become a reality.

Willi Kissmer often uses a combination of etching techniques in the production of his work: aquatint, drypoint and mezzotint. The artist's work is usually figurative and sensual in nature. His work is characterized by a beautiful tension that the light he manipulates creates on his object, where he usually prefers the play of model, light and clothing to complete nudity.

Willi Kissmer's work is now exhibited in the most prominent galleries in Europe, America and Russia.
