Education: In the period 1956-1958 Gérard Leonard van den Eerenbeemt was educated at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He then taught for a few seasons at the art academy in Kampen, Amersfoort and at the post-academic Ateliers 63.

Van den Eerenbeemt has a great track record as an artist. His style is as earthy as it is poetic, always taking the thought further than the performance or anecdote. G_rard Leonard van den Eerenbeemt, was co-founder of Raam 75 and the Ijmuiderkring. He published collections of poems and had several sculpture commissions. Together with Gerrit Kouwenaar he made the graphics folder "Zonder Colors" in 1962. In 1965 Van den Eerenbeemt did the set and costume design for the opera "Labyrinth" by Peter Schat. In 1992 Van den Eerenbeemt made a trip through India, where he made sketches and doodles, which he processed a year later into large monumental wax-pigment paintings. In 2000 Van den Eerenbeemt leaves for the Champagne region in France. He lived and worked here until his death.

Exhibitions and prizes:

Van den Eerenbeemt won the Royal Grant for Painting in 1959 and 1960. In 1959 he exhibited at the Paris Biennale. His work is represented in the company collections AMC Brummelkamp Galerie and AMC showcases, Amsterdam and Art Collection KPN The Hague.
