Rotterdam Art Foundation

The Rotterdamse Kunststichting (RKS) was a foundation that was involved in promoting and propagating cultural life in Rotterdam. In 2005, the RKS was incorporated into the Rotterdam Council for Art and Culture, and tasks were transferred to the Art and Culture Department of the Municipality of Rotterdam. The original foundation's job was to advise municipal and local art institutions, provide grants to institutions and projects, and develop their own projects. The Rotterdam Council for Art and Culture is now the advisory body for art and culture of the municipality of Rotterdam. The Council is independent and only provides policy advice. In addition, the Council for Art and Culture encourages collaboration within the art sector, and between the culture sector and other organisations.
