- Condition: The watercolor is in fine condition. The frame has wear spots and the glass plate has a tiny 'chip' at the bottom right (see the l14th photo).

Information about the artist:
Gerard Emanuel Wensma (Groesbeek 16 March 1919 – 18 February The Hague), painter and draftsman.
-Education: Royal Academy of Art The Hague. Was taught by Paul Citroen, Gerrit Kiljan and Arend Hendriks, among others.
-Subjects: Gerard Wensma is known for his drawings and paintings of architecture and landscapes, but also made still lifes.
He lived and worked in The Hague, where he taught drawing at the St Vincentius Brothers School and the Albert Schweitzer Mavo.
From a review by fellow painter Jan Jonkergouw (1921-2012): “In his work Gerard Wensma continuously sought a balance between color and form, order and chaos, impression and expression and recognizability and deformation. In order to experiment with this, he needed the landscape.”
